Tomas Tisch studio


The Tomas Tisch studio specializes in architectural glass. Our work includes historical reproductions, original contemporary designs and consulting on architectural projects involving glass.

Tomas is an internationally renowned craftsman and artist. He was born and trained in Austria at his family's glass studio and at Glasfachschule, Kramsach. He studied art at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY. Tomas has worked with glass for over 30 years. He has researched the history of production and design of American glass for architecture and lighting. He has been called to reproduce specialty glass for museums and antique dealers throughout the country. He has worked amongst others for the de Young Museum in San Francisco, the Texas State Capitol Building restoration, the Oakland Museum and the Shelburn Museum, Shelburn, Vermont.

He was guest lecturer at the Rhode Island School of Design and taught at the renowned Pillchuck Summer School in Washington State. His art work is represented in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass, the American Craft Museum, New York City, and the collection of the Cristallex Co. at Castle Lembeck, Novy Bor Czech Rep.

He is considered a master in his field and one of the best sources for historical glass reproduction in the U.S.A. Tomas established his first studio, Tomas Tisch Fine Glass Work, in 1979 in Oakland, California. He formed A.N.T Art in Ithaca, NY in 1990, and moved to the present location in the historic Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY in 1998. * Our extensive background, our experience, and a commitment to excellence enables us to provide you with better service * .
