Stan's Sash Sawn Lumber Mill: The mill itself is custom built to duplicate early 1800's sash sawn lumber. All parts are converted from salvaged mill or farm machinery. The main drive unit converted from a International Harvester hay baler furnishing the "sash" with a 28 inch travel. The log carriage is an Ireland mill carriage bearing a name plate embossed with a phone number (ODESSA 91) which attests to its vintage. The blade, the business end of the whole operation, is hand made one tooth at a time in our shop.

Both the action of this handmade mill and the lumber it produces are indistinguishable from that of the water mills of two centuries ago. There is no other mill, that we know of, which produces boards and beams with the distinctive vertical saw marks of this period with such verisimilitude. This lumber is suitable for authentic period restoration of existing structures, convincing recreation or reproduction of period structures and for unique design effects in new structures. One inch boards any available width to 12 feet in length.
Two inch boards any available width to 16 feet in length.
Timbers and beams 8 - 12 inches, in any combination, to 20 feet in length.
